The Dancing house in Prague - what to see there
Prague

Dancing house

Dancing house is one of the most attractive contemporary buildings in Prague. It was created by the design made of Vaclav Havel and Vladimir Milunich during the period between 1994th and 1996th year. The house is very popular by the name Fred and Ginger (Fred Aster and Ginger Rogers) among the locals, because it reminds of a dancing girl. Dancing house is situated at the corner of Reslova Street and the coastal street of the city. A building in neoclassical style from the 19th century used to stand out. However, this building was destroyed in the bomb attacks by the American aviation against Prague in the end of the Second World War.

Dancing house has 9 floors and it’s formed of 99 panels – different by shape and size. In the beginning, the design of the construction used to cause lots of argues as it used to be thought that it just doesn’t fit the whole baroque and classical city architecture. Within the time, though, Dancing house has turned into one of the most recognizable symbols of Prague. It’s a host to a gallery, hotel, restaurant, glass bar, but for some people, it’s also a working place as it accommodates the offices owned by numerous international companies.

Dancing house has no entrance. You should buy a ticket only if you want to see its gallery. The restaurant and the Glass bar are at your disposal, so don’t miss the chance to visit them for anything in life.

What to see in Dancing house?

The Gallery

It is situated on the first three floors of the building. Inside the gallery you can enjoy the best of the modern Czech and world art. Don’t you dare miss the chance to visit at least one of the inner galleries while you are in Prague! The gallery management tends to discover and make popular young talented painters, as well as to connect people’s everyday lifestyle with the world of art. You will be offered guide tours, lectures, discussions and other professional activities that can show you you more of the world of art.

The Glass bar

It is located on the last floor of Dancing house and presents the visitors one of the most amazing views of Prague. Here, some of the best cocktails in the city are served.

The restaurant

On the top of the building the panoramic restaurant “Prague’s pearl” is placed. The name is definitely not just logical, but fully corresponding to the amenity because of both: the delicious food accompanied by qualitative service and the incredible views of the city, Vltava River and Prague Castle, especially at night!
Dancing house expects you to show you all of its so-called secret spots!
